Progenie Terrestre Pura – U.M.A (2013)

cover

Finally unleashing their debut full-length, today we have Italian duo Progenie Terrestre Pura’s “U.M.A”. Standing for Uomini, Macchine, Anime (Men, Machines, Souls), this band delivers purely atmospheric Black Metal with a very cool sci-fi theme. Focusing in creating lush and ethereal atmospheres, the band creates 50 minutes of magical music that will take you on an out of body interstellar journey.

Opening with “Progenie Terrestre Pura”, the band immediately establishes a trippy and futuristic atmosphere that is quite unique and dreamy. Slowly making their way in to the ‘heavy sections’ the band does a great job not rushing things and letting their music set the mood. The unsettling “Sovrarobotizzazione” features quite powerful BM riffs that are masked behind their lush atmospheric elements and some excellent Post-Rock/Post-BM soundscapes.

As an instrumental, “La Terra Rossa Di Marte”, nicely splits the release in two and allows for more futuristic atmospheric antics before the album keeps flowing. Moving a bit into the ambient/industrial BM side of things, “Droni” is quite a heavy and powerful track. Closing with the best track of the album, “Sinapsi Divelte”, the band leaves on a high note with a very apocalyptic and dominating piece.

Overall, “U.M.A” is one of those near perfect releases that combines lush atmospheric soundscapes with commanding Black Metal elements. The duo behind Progenie Terrestre Pura does a great job in crafting a very unique and diverse sound. If you like trippy and futuristic atmospheric elements, this is one of those releases that will satisfy you for months to come. After their impressive demo, we are quite psyched that Avantgarde Music is releasing this fine musical masterpiece.
