ENSLAVED MEMBER COMMENTS ON BILLBOARD CHART ENTRY

Axioma Ethica Odini, the new album by Norway’s renowned progressive/psychedelic black metal band ENSLAVED, has sold over 1,400 copies in the U.S. since its release on September 28th and has debuted at #16 on the Billboard Heatseekers (New Artists) chart, #40 in the Current Hard Music Albums chart, and #72 on the Independent Current Albums chart.

ENSLAVED guitarist/songwriter Ivar Bjørnson has checked in from the road in Europe with their reaction to the news:

“We received news last week of the great first week sales in the U.S. with accompanying chart positions.  Most important is the fact that we out-did our own previous achievements [with 2008’s Vertebrae] in the U.S. market.  We’re not competing with anything else than our own ambitions.  We want to express our sincere appreciation to the wonderful people at Nuclear Blast U.S. for their relentless efforts in promoting ENSLAVED, as this is also their achievement!”

Axioma Ethica Odini is the follow-up to 2008’s Vertebrae, which sold over 1,100 copies its first week of release in North America according to Nielsen SoundScan and debuted on the American Billboard Hard Music chart at #11 and on the Billboard Heatseekers chart at #49Vertebrae also won Terrorizer Magazine’s coveted “Album of the Year” award for 2008.  In their native Norway, Vertebrae entered the official charts at #20 and earned  ENSLAVED their third consecutive Spellemann award (the Norwegian equivalent of a Grammy).

ENSLAVED will be direct support for fellow countrymen DIMMU BORGIR on a 32-date run across North America which launches on Friday, November 5th in Worcester, Massachusetts and ends Tuesday, December 14th in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.  Also on the bill are Blood Red Throne and Dawn Of Ashes.
