Perversor – Demon Metal (2010)

Hailing from Chile, these old-school inspired metal heads propose a very traditional sounding mix of Black/Death and Trash Metal. Heavily influenced by Hellhammer, Possesed and old Mayhem, this band will blow you away with their latest EP “Demon Metal”.

Featuring only 17 minutes of music this release flies by with all its brutality and will leave you wanting for more. With their old-school logo, album cover, and sound this band will take you on a backwards journey to the lat 80’s.

The band does lack in the originality department since most riffs and song structures are very simple and will give you the feeling that you’ve heard them before. Besides this little detail, Perversor is a very solid band and brings back this peculiar sound with grace and perfect execution.

Like you would imagine, the riffs are very resilient, and while not very diverse, they get the job done. The drumming is very fast paced, but is drowned in the mix of the album. The vocals closely resemble the greats of the genre, giving the band’s music that extra level of authenticity.

“Demon Metal” is a short but solid EP from Perversor. We can only expect another top notch release from them in the future, so start collecting this band’s releases while they are hot.
