Top Melodic / Progressive / Technical / Death Metal Albums of 2018

In 2018 we got a great deal of old-school Death Metal albums that provided little to nothing to the annals of music. Luckily, there are always bands pushing the boundaries and innovating in the genre. Here is our list of the favorite albums we reviewed in 2018.

7. Burial in the Sky - Creatio Et Hominus (2018)

Seemingly out of nowere, Burial in the Sky delivers brilliant Proggy/Tech Death Metal with fresh ideas and great skill.

6. The Odious Construct - Shrine of the Obscene (2018)

Newcomers from California, The Odious Construct, unleashed this excellent EP. Keep an eye out for these guys.

5. Kalmah – Palo (2018)

Legendary Finish outfit returns with a superbly catchy and engaging release. A must-have for fans of their music.

4. Beyond Creation - Algorythm (2018)

Hailing from Canada, Beyond Creation turns heads with their focus on melody and engaging song crafting over instrumental acrobatics.

3. Abhorrence - Megalohydrothalassophobic (2018)

Old-school band showing the kiddies how it is done!

2. Revocation - The Outer Ones (2018)

Getting better with each release, Revocation incites some serious headbanging from start to end.

1. Wolfheart - Constellation of the Black Light (2018)

Keeping things interesting, Wolfheart shakes things up a bit and delivers one hell of a heavy release... with no shortage of their signature melodic elements.
