Top 5 Pagan/Folk/Viking Metal albums of 2011

Here we present what we at Infernal Masquerade think have been the best Pagan/Folk/Viking Metal albums of 2011.

5.Týr - The Lay of Thrym (2011)

Excellent band and great songs.... but we are kind of getting tired of the same gimmick as always

4.Furor Gallico – Furor Gallico (2011)

Few elements here and there make this release shine in the big pile of similar sounding Viking/Pagan Metal releases of 2011

3.Cruachan – Blood on the Black Robe (2011)

Agressive and very down to the basics, completely different from what all cookie-cutter bands are doing these days

2.Primordial – Redemption at the Puritan’s Hand (2011)

Crushing guitar melodies makes Primordial a mandatory fixture on a top albums of the year list whenever they release something

1. Arkona – Slovo (2011)

Masha and company deliver one of the finest Pagan Metal releases in the last few years and they seem to only keep getting better with time!
