Combining all different variants of the genre, we had a great year in terms of Black Metal with some excellent new bands appearing and some of the older bands making a comeback. Note that we left Post-Black Metal/Blackgaze out of this list.

5. Cradle of Filth – Hammer of the Witches (2015) Haters are going to hate with CoF, but they managed to release a magical album with this one.
