The Prophecy23 - …To The Pit (2010)

cover

Recently we have been bombarded by tons and tons of new Thrash Metal bands and it’s getting close to impossible to find any bands worth listening to. The Prophecy23 is yet another one of those Thrash bands that is aiming for a little piece of the pie. We must say that from the countless submissions we get, there is a great deal of quality behind this German band that we can’t seem to find anywhere else.

With a ‘traditional’ Thrash foundation, The Prophecy23 has pretty solid riffing and overall catchy songwriting that makes them quickly standout from all the uninspired cloned bands. The band does not get stuck in the whole ‘lets sound old-school’ approach and actually proposes some interesting changes in their music.

First off, the vocals a re a mixture of traditional Thrash screams and deep Death Metal growls, providing the band with variety and the ability to change up their sound constantly. With their Thrash riffing and song structures is kind of refreshing to hear some growls here and there that make the songs more aggressive.

The riffing in the album is pretty solid all around and with some killer solos we can’t really ask for more. All songs in “…To The Pit” have a nice ring to them and do not sound like a carbon copy of the previous one, there are constant changes between ‘catchy and melodic’ to downright aggressive. While we enjoy our Thrash releases to be consistent, there is always the need for a little ‘spice’ in a band’s music, something that The Prophecy23 excels at.

Rounding off the mix, we have the blasting drumming that is diverse enough for us not to pass out from boredom. Some of the song structures give you the ‘I’ve heard that before’ idea for a few seconds and then they just move in a completely different direction of what you can expect. The band does a pretty solid job in creating 13 original songs that have their own unique individual features, and they all flow magically together creating a very comprehensive release.

If you are looking for some Thrash Metal but are tired of the ‘same old shit’, check out “…To The Pit” we are sure you will find something you’ll love from this solid release. With this album we finally get an overall solid release that has some old-school elements re-arranged in a different way creating a very catchy and powerful sound.
