Handful Of Hate – You Will Bleed (2009)

Hailing from Italy, Handful Of Hate brings us their fifth full-length album and they are here to blow us away with some very brutal Black Metal.

“You Will Bleed” provides us with almost 40 minutes of well produced Black Metal that will closely rival the bigger profile BM albums of this year (Marduk, Immortal, Gorgoroth, etc). The band has been getting better with every album they have released and this one is another step in the right direction.

The band excels as a whole and has no individual ‘stars’, their collective effort is what makes this release so good. The songs come together very nicely as all instruments create a very think sounding wall of impenetrable Black Metal atmosphere that very few bands are able to achieve.

The guitar work is excellent and very fast paced, since song one you will feel the sound of it coming at your neck and it never lets go. The drumming is very precise and marks up the music’s rhythm to perfection creating very brutal songs that never go down in intensity.

The bass guitar can be heard here and there and sometimes gets lost in the mix but not enough for this to be a problem. The vocals on the other hand are very good and somewhat a bit different than your traditional Black Metal shrieks, adding the perfect (red) icing to this BM cake. Overall all musicians provide their respective percentages to balance this release from start to end.

While “You Will Bleed” might not get enough attention as other Black Metal releases this year, this album offer a very good quality Black Metal that easily rivals the other high profiles releases of the year. Handful Of Hate is a band that has a very good future ahead of them so get this album and do not let them out of your musical radar.
