Nemesis Irae – Eradikate Kampaign (2013)

Hailing from Belgium, today we have Nemesis Irae and their latest crushing release “Eradikate Kampaign”. Featuring eight tracks of devastating Black/Death Metal, this release is very raw and powerful, perfect for fans of old-school music from the genre. Delivering pummeling riffs and massive drumming, this Belgian band pummels through this release in a very stylish and aggressive way.

Opening with the hectic “Karnage”, the band instantly makes an impact with their powerful guitars and demonic vocals. The combination of screams and semi-growls is quite effective and gives an extra boost to the band’s already powerful sound. The releases provides a healthy mixture of powerful and to the point short songs with other tracks going over four and a half minutes being a bit more complex and elaborate.

“New Beginning” features waves of crushing BM riffs thanks to Garabak and Lord Natrak dual guitars. Other songs like “Christ Anthem” and “Total Agony” remind us of bands like Impiety and their relentless Black/Death with Thrash influences. The bass guitar is quite active and well-crafted in said songs, courtesy of Humungus. The onslaught continues with devastating tracks like “666 Reich” and “Asmodeus”, both very powerful and direct.

As the album comes to a close, the band delivers the nihilistic “Vortex”, and closes with the old-school “Putrid Lust”, reminding us of Venom and similar bands. Overall, “Eradikate Kampaign” is a pretty solid release from a very promising band. Nemesis Irae has a very timeless and effective sound that any old-school Black/Death Metal fan will enjoy. We can’t wait to hear how the band evolves and refines the sound in the future.
